High School Baseball

The Kentucky high school baseball season is less than a month away and Baseball America has released its first national top 50 high school rankings. The lone Kentucky representative on the list is Harrison County High School, which checks in at No. 34. (BA’s top 50)

The Kentucky High School Athletic Association has also released some new rules for the 2010 season. Among the highlights: an improved definition of permissible bats, a rule forbidding assistant coaches from leaving the dugout to argue calls and new dugout dimension outlines. Batters will also no longer be called out if a runner interferes with a fielder trying to catch a foul fly ball; the runner will be called out in such an instance. (New Rules)
