UofL earns 5th straight win with 2-0 shutout of Michigan

University of Louisville junior right-handed starting pitcher Thomas Royse allowed just two hits in six innings, and junior right-handed reliever Neil Holland was perfect in three innings out of the bullpen to lead the Cards to a 2-0 shutout of the University of Michigan. Royse struck out nine and walked just two in the two-hit victory.

At the plate senior second baseman Adam Duvall provided the Cards all the offense they needed with a solo home run in the fourth inning. Senior first baseman Andrew Clark also drove in a run with a sacrifice fly in the first inning. Holland recorded his first save of the season. (Box Score)

BluGrass Baseball POG: Thomas Royse — Royse was almost unhittable Friday in six innings. The junior ace allowed two hits and two walks while striking out nine. On the season Royse is now 2-0 and still hasn’t given up an earned run in 11 innings. He has 14 strikeouts and two walks in 11 innings.
