Four-run sixth leads EKU to 9-6 win over UNC Greensboro

Eastern Kentucky University took the lead with a four-run sixth inning, and the Colonel bullpen preserved the lead in a 9-6 victory over UNC Greensboro. Junior center fielder Ryan Faidley was 3-4 and scored three runs for the Colonels. Junior third baseman Jayson Langfels was 2-5 with one RBI and one run scored.

Freshman right-handed reliever Chris Barte earned his first career victory after allowing one run in one and one-third innings. Junior right-handed closer Ryne Purcell recorded the save with a scoreless ninth inning. EKU improved to 5-3 on the season. (Box Score)

BluGrass Baseball POG: Ryan Faidley — The junior outfielder scored three of EKU’s nine runs in the game and added a team-high three hits. Faidley is batting .389 on the season with four runs scored.
