Kentucky Wesleyan alum and Los Angeles Dodgers right-handed reliever Cory Wade underwent arthroscopic shoulder surgery Wednesday and could miss a large portion of the 2010 season. “Wade had said the original estimate was a three-month recovery,” Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. “However, the fact that three areas [of the shoulder] were involved might indicate a more lengthy and involved recovery. ”
Wade has complained of sporadic “pinching” in his shoulder since his rookie season in 2008, and spent two different stints on the disabled list with a shoulder ailment in 2009. Wade is expected back in Arizona to begin his rehab this week, but the Dodgers have provided no official timetable for his return. (Read more)
