Wunderlich’s two bombs lead UofL to 16th win

University of Louisville senior first baseman Phil Wunderlich homered twice and drove in four to lead the Cards to an 11-7 win over Ball State Friday. Sophomore designated hitter Ryan Wright was 3-5 with one home run, two RBI and three runs scored. Redshirt sophomore right fielder Stewart Ijames also homered and drove in two. Junior right-handed pitcher Thomas Royse earned his fourth win of the season after allowing seven runs, four of which were earned, in six and two-third innings. Junior right-handed reliever Neil Holland tallied his fourth save after pitching two scoreless innings to close the game. UofL improved to 16-1 on the season. (Box Score) BluGrass Baseball POG: Phil Wunderlich — The senior slugger was 4-5 with two home runs, four RBI and three runs scored in game one of a three-game series. Wunderlich now has seven home runs and 25 RBI on the season.
