Earlier today we linked Perfect Game USA‘s underclassmen high school All-American teams. Perfect Game partnered with Rawlings Sporting Goods to release the senior All-American team a few weeks ago, but several Kentucky high schoolers and in-state college signees were honored, so the list is still worth passing along. Our coaches bureau have been posted in Louisville,KY to scout a senior at Ballard, HS. Senior (c) switch hitter, very strong defensive skills. John fidanza has been selected for player of the month on a national high school level. 420 avg, 28RBI’s, 10 HR 3 multil home run games. Numerous local coaches state “No one dares to steal on him”. Scouting reports have his arm and pop time at a MLB level. John Fidanza has been named to the 2010 1st team national high school all stars, 2010 national high school player of the month.Nominated for high school national player of the year 2010.
Gus Sherrow is a senior at West Jessamine High School NOT Woodford County High School
Thanks for pointing that out…it has been fixed

Re: Mr. Baseball Reply

One player I have not heard as a potential Mr. Baseball candidate is John Fidanza from Ballard. He is having a huge year at the plate and has always shown the ability to have pro tools behind the plate. He is hitting .414 with eight doubles, one triple, and ten homeruns. Those are outstanding numbers. He also is a switch-hitting catcher who runs a legitimate sub 7.0 60m. Whats most impressive to me is most would say that its his bat that may be his only possible question mark physically. He has a legitimate 1.9 or better pop and throws down over 83mph to second base. He has thrown out 72% of runners trying to steal. He is young for his grade as well. I’m not saying that he should win Mr. Baseball. There are other great players out there as well. But, to not list him as one of the players who should be considered is just wrong. The kid has put up stats that deserve the chance to be considered. He signed early to play at Coastal Carolina which is currently ranked 4th nationally. Just for those who think I only tout players who play for me. John will not be playing for me this summer. I have had the opportunity to coach him as he played briefly with us last summer, but chose to go a different direction. I respect that, and the way HE handled himself in doing so.
