  • The University of Kentucky scored nine runs over two consecutive innings to earn its eighth win in the last nine games with a 12-4 victory over Canisius. Sophomore right-handed pitcher Walter Wijas earned the win after surrendering two unearned runs in one and two-third innings of work. Senior shortstop Taylor Black was 3-4 with four RBI and two runs scored, and junior left fielder Chad Wright was 3-4 with two runs scored. Senior designated hitter Mike Kaczmarek slugged his first collegiate home run, and sophomore center fielder Brian Adams was 2-2 with two runs scored.   • Eastern Kentucky University‘s losing streak hit seven games and the Colonels fell to 0-10 on the road this season with a 6-3 loss to Miami (OH). Junior designated hitter Jacob Daniel and freshman third baseman Bryan Soloman were both 2-4 in the game.   • The University of Louisville evened its series with Xavier with a 3-0 win Saturday. Redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher Justin Amlung improved to 4-0 on the season after surrendering five hits in seven shutout innings while striking out seven batters and walking two. Freshman first baseman Ryan Seiz, sophomore third baseman Cade Stallings and senior catcher J. J. Ethel each tallied two hits in the game. Redshirt junior right fielder Stewart Ijames, Seiz and Stallings scored the Cards three runs.   • Western Kentucky University slugged three home runs and tallied 11 hits to secure a series win versus Middle Tennessee with a 10-4 victory. Junior left fielder Chad Wright and junior third baseman Thomas McCarthy both homered in the game, and McCarthy tallied three hits. Freshman right fielder J. T. Riddle was 3-5 with two RBI.   • Western Kentucky University jumped out to an early 3-0 lead after two innings and never looked back in a 7-3 win over Mississippi. Junior shortstop Logan Robbins was 3-5 with a home run, one RBI and three runs scored, and junior third baseman Casey Dykes was 3-3 with one RBI, one run scored and one stolen base. Junior second baseman Ivan Hartle drove in three runs, and senior right-handed starting pitcher Brian Edelen struck out five batters and surrendered one run in two and two-third innings. Redshirt junior right-handed pitcher Rye Davis, freshman right-handed pitcher Justin Hageman, junior right-handed pitcher Phil Wetherell and junior right-handed pitcher Ross Hammonds each posted scoreless appearances. (Box Score)

  • The University of Louisville secured a series win over preseason MAC favorite Kent State with a 5-3 win Saturday behind redshirt sophomore right-handed pitcher Justin Amlung. In seven innings Amlung surrendered one run on one hit to go with four strikeouts and one walk. Freshman designated hitter Ty Young was 3-4. Sophomore third baseman Cade Stallings drove in two runs for the Cards, and freshman first baseman Ryan Seiz scored twice. Junior right-handed closer Tony Zych earned his fourth save of the season despite surrendering one run after surrendering a hit and walking two batters in the ninth inning. (Box Score)
  • Western Kentucky University ended a four-game losing streak in impressive fashion with a 17-1 blowout win over New York Tech in its second game of the College of Charleston Tournament.   • Murray State University dropped to 0-4 on the season with an 8-4 loss to Arkansas St. despite five solid innings of work from junior right-handed pitcher Tyler Beers. The junior-college transfer rebounded from a poor performance in his first start last Friday to surrender just two hits in five scoreless innings while striking out eight and walking none.
