Louisville hosts most of top 25 in weekend tourney

High School Baseball

Kentucky high school baseball fans should head to Louisville this weekend for the biggest regular season event on the schedule. The eighth annual Louisville Invitational Tournament starts tonight with five games matching top 25 teams on the schedule. In all the 40-team field boasts 19 of the top 25 teams in the state and 15 of the top 16. Only No. 9 Harrison County isn’t participating.

Each school will play three games over the next three days at one of 10 hosting Jefferson County schools. No official tournament champion will be crowned. The scheduled is headlined by tonight’s matchup of No. 1 Lexington Catholic and No. 10 Male. For an in-depth preview of the event check out Jason Frakes story in the Courier Journal.
