Baseball America has released its top ten prospects list for the Minnesota Twins organization and Lexington-native and Lexington Catholic alum Ben Revere ranked No. 5 on the list. Revere batted .311 with 75 runs scored and 45 stolen bases in 2009 for the high A Fort Meyers Miracle, but is currently sandwiched between centerfield prospects Denard Span and Aaron Hicks on the Twins depth chart. John Manuel of BA speculates Revere may be trade bait, but for now he remains in the Twins long-term plans. Check more 2009 stats and some BA analysis below:

#5 — OF — Ben Revere — High A Fort Meyers

  • .311/.372/.369
  • 40 BB, 34 SO
  • BA: “Revere is the best pure hitter in the organization and one of the best in the minors, with a .337 average and nearly as many walks (80) as strikeouts (85)…His overall game still needs polish, but Revere has a chance to be an impact leadoff hitter.”
