Baseball America has released its top ten prospects list for the Cleveland Indians organization and former University of Kentucky outfielder Jason Kipnis was ranked tenth. Kipnis spent parts of two seasons with the Cats before being kicked off the team by former head coach John Cohen. Kipnis then transferred to Arizona State where he was eventually named a first-team All American.
During the Instructional League the Indians moved Kipnis to second base where his bat profiles as more of a plus. Baseball America projects that Kipnis will get a head start of Spring Training in 2010 to work on his position change before heading to Kinston to start the season.
